After putting together a much fancier document for the A4000 (the Amiga 4000 Hardware Guide), it was suggested that something similar was needed for the A1200. Additionally, I kept seeing the same questions asked over and over in comp.sys.amiga.hardware, and it seemed like a FAQ might help both those asking and answering the questions. Maybe it'll just change all the answers to say "Read the FAQ, you moron." Nah. Amiga people are more polite than that. They'd say "PLEASE read the FAQ, you moron. |

CAPS, the Classic Amiga Preservation Society, as the name implies, dedicates itself to the preservation for the future of classic Amiga software, namely classic Amiga games. As it is, these games are abandoned and in possession of mainly an ever diminishing community or well willed collectors. These games are detrimentally affected by the passage of time by their storing media, and these Amiga classics, a big part of gaming history, risk being lost forever in the near future. The Golden (or Great, Growing, Glossy, Galvanic ;-) Amiga Games Encyclopedia originally started in AmigaGuide form with the goal to list all Amiga Games that were compatible with AGA and 68020+ Amigas. But, because so much games didn't work on upgraded machines, I (Dr.Zarkov) started testing them with all kind of degrading tools and added this information to the guide. Inspired and skilled programmers have become rare 'cause a lot moved over to other systems. Those of you who are Amiga owners - so fortunate and so few - can find most anything you need by following one or another of the linx on this here page. When you find whatever you're looking for, you can download it (of course while that's going on you can shove the screen in the background and do Cool Stuff in multitasking peace). By the way, let's all congratulate MicroSoft for Windows95. Finally, they managed to make PCs do at least SOME of the stuff that Amigas and Macs were doing 10 years ago - and with only 1000% of the RAM, and HD space. Great marketing job, Bill! |

RJ Mical, and the Rise and Fall of Amiga Computer Inc. It was hard for me not to go completely over the top for the Commodore Amiga when I became aware of it in 1985. Here was a machine incredible graphics, stunning sound, amazing games, and a general sense that the thing could do most anything. I wasn't the only one; Amigas are still in use to this day for professional graphics work and video editing. But at the time, it just changed everything. On the face of things, we seem to be merely talking about text-based files, containing only the letters of the English Alphabet (and the occasional punctuation mark). On deeper inspection, of course, this isn't quite the case. What this site offers is a glimpse into the history of writers and artists bound by the 128 characters that the American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) allowed them. This document describes the .ADF file format. An Amiga Disk File is a sector per sector dump of an Amiga formatted disk. The intent is to explain in detail how the Amiga stores files and directories on floppy and hard disks. A set of C routines (ADFlib) will be supplied to manage the ADF format. |

Way back in 1989, when I worked for one of the many CBM divisions, I kept a paper that had a list of custom chips that I ran across in my work. The list got a lot of requests and kept growing. When CBM went under I moved the list over to AmigaGuide. It is a simple idea. It is a AmigaGuide sorted by the chip name and its function. Within that there is information on the full chip name, CBM Part Number and Machines used in. The guide covers machines from A500 to A4000T (and AA3000/A3000+) and CDTV(II) to CD32. OCS to AAA chipsets. Cards such as Gemini & A2631. |

I've started this page in an effort to find and provide other GVP-M A4060/A2060 users with as many answers and resources as possible for these unsupported and mysterious 68060 accelerator cards for the Amiga 4000 and 2000 respectively. On June 9, 1999, I bought a refurbished Amiga 4000 (desktop) from Software Hut that came pre-configured with a GVP-M A4060 accelerator. Although the A4060 is a good accelerator, I have encountered some bugs and limitations that I am hoping my hosting this page will solve. |

I have searched the web for simple programming tips for newcomers on C and Amiga, but haven't found much. So here it is: My very own knowledge database :-) All sources are complete programs and have been succesfully compiled with SAS/C 6.58. Note that unless specified the sources are only tested with WB 3.1 KS 3.1 on a A4000 with a CV64/3D graphic-card. They are not prepared to be started from Workbench. Have you a specific question about C or C on Amiga, don't hesitate to mail me. Note that I only use SAS/C so I can't answer any questions about other compilers. |
