I may or may not have another one soon, but until then, there will be no more Iconographics from me. :-( Sorry.

      ScanQuix5
      Author: Andreas Günther   Date Verified:
ScanQuix is a scanner driver system for the Amiga and has become a well known standard solution for scanning on this platform during the last years. Different scanner models can be used uniformly by all programs, similarly to the use of printers with printer drivers. Of course, you can scan, display and save pictures with ScanQuix. But the outstanding characteristic is the ability of many graphic programs to use the scanner drivers directly. That is, you can scan the images without detour into your favourite graphic software. So there is no need for a software to supply its own drivers for each scanner any more, but only an interface to the ScanQuix system. Site in German and English

      Author: Julian Knight   Date Verified:
I am compiling this list because although I've had an OpalVision card for a long time, I never have got round to getting the S-VGA Genlock I wanted - I was always waiting for the rest of the Opal suite to appear! Yes I know - a mug! Well, as the OpalVision mailing list started to go quiet for a while, I thought I had better try and capture peoples experiences with Genlocks and the OpalVision and this FAQ is the result.

      XPM for Amiga
      Author: Håkan Younes   Date Verified:
The XPM image format defines how to store color images in a portable and powerful way. I have ported the XPM library, which provides a set of functions to store and retrieve images to and from XPM format data, to the Amiga platform. The port has been incorporated into the main distribution, thus making future enhancements directly available to the Amiga community. The XPM distribution is available at ftp://koala.inria.fr/pub/xpm/. To simplify the use of XPM images on the Amiga platform, I have also written a BOOPSI image class that acts as a wrapper for the XPM library functions. The source code is available on Aminet and the archive also contains a binary version of the XPM library.

XTrace is a vector tracer to convert bitmap pictures (e.g. IFF ILBM files) to vector pictures (e.g. AI, EPS, FIG, IFF DR2D or DXF files). It offers several operators to process bitmap and vector pictures and it even supports Bézier curves, XPK, clipboards, CyberGraphX/Picasso96, etc. As a very special feature, XTrace is able to save traced pictures as 3-dimensional logo for Michiel den Outer's "Navigator Titler" (Video Titler) and as 3-dimensional DXF files (to load them into raytracers). It is even able to load and trace Amiga fonts and save them as 3-dimensional fonts for the "Navigator Titler".
